Planning Your Honeymoon

Honeymoon Regsitry

Honeymoon RegistryMany fine details are involved with planning for your honeymoon. This process may be a bit easier if you break it down into a time line. Many couples get overwhelmed by the stresses of planning the honeymoon, which is supposed to be a fun and exciting process! Taking simple steps to ensure everything goes smoothly during your honeymoon vacation is well worth the time and effort it may take. This is one of the first big trips the two of you will take together and it will pay off in the end to have everything well thought out, planned out, and taken care of!

About six months before your honeymoon, you should look into your travel budget, read what other couples generally plan on spending on their honeymoon, and subscribing to “Planning for Your Honeymoon” newsletters. This would also be a good time to look into a honeymoon registry site, and if you so chose, start to make the site and notify friends and family. At the five month mark, research the different options for lodging and look into what others have said about the options you find appealing. Check sites that offer fun statistics, such as the top fifty honeymoon spots. Also, look into all-inclusive packages and which resorts offer them. This may be a nice option, especially if the two of you are planning a luxurious trip. Feel free to look into special romance or newlywed packages as well. Many resorts are happy to offer them, and you will be happy you inquired about them!

Around the three month mark, start truly enjoying planning for your honeymoon! Research simple ways to save on expenses of your honeymoon, and possibly start working with a travel agent. If you are traveling out of the country together, be sure to get your passports in order and ready yourself for any vaccinations you may require to travel. Two months prior to your honeymoon, start getting into the little details of your vacation, including which luggage to take and the rules and guidelines of the airline you may be taking. This may include certain things you may not pack in luggage and carry on the plane, or measurement restrictions for baggage.

Planning your honeymoon should hopefully be top priority by now, and you and your fiancé are hopefully enjoying every minute of it! When the one month mark approaches, you should start buying travel guides and maps, and plan your wardrobes. Arrange for pet care if needed, and be sure to buy a travel camera. Also, by now you should have your marriage license, confirm any reservations and start making a detailed list to double check you have everything handled.

One week before your trip, you should start learning about your travelers checks on exchanging of currency if necessary. Start packing your bags, and make sure any tickets for your flights are secure and confirmed. You should now be fully prepared for your trip, and growing more and more excited about the chance to explore the world with your fiancé! Enjoy!
